Susan Farewell is an author and journalist based in Westport, Connecticut. A former travel editor at The Condé Nast Publications in New York City, she covers a wide variety of subjects including travel, health and fitness and home design and architecture. She also writes a great deal about skiing and the sport of rowing.
Her work has appeared in many national magazines including Vogue, Gourmet, Cooking Light, Travel and Leisure, Outside Traveler, Metropolitan Home, McCall’s, Child and Bride’s. She contributes to several Connecticut-based publications including Connecticut Cottages and Gardens, Fairfield Magazine, Westport Magazine, Fairfield County Home and Connecticut Bride. Her work also has appeared in airline magazines, newspapers around the country including The New York Times and in newsletters including BottomLine Personal.
Susan is the author of numerous books including Quick Escapes from New York City (including the newly released 7th edition), Hidden New England, Hidden Maine and How to Make a Living as a Travel Writer. She has also co-authored many travel books.
In addition to writing, Farewell is a radio travel correspondent for David Smith’s Exchange on WICC 600 AM in Southern Connecticut. She also is a writing coach, teaching courses online at WritersCollege.com and live at writing conferences, schools and professional seminars across the country.
